NAPLEX Review Hosted by IPA
May 7, 2008
This
one-day program hosted by IPA was designed to help students review essential
information from their pharmacy education and practical experiences. The
speaker was Bruce Carlstedt, Ph.D., FASHP, Professor of Pharmacy
Practice, Purdue University, School of Pharmacy and Pharmacal Sciences. In
addition to specific information on areas such as calculations and pharmacology,
Dr. Carlstedt discussed the pharmacy board exam review books, giving suggestions
on the best way to utilize their time. Practical ideas on how to prepare for
the exam, and common pitfalls to avoid were discussed.
This
Review was an opportunity for students to review essential topics, and learn how
to meet the challenge of the board exam. The review helped students organize
their study plan for the exam, and identify areas that need further study. The
topics covered included calculations, therapeutics, OTC's, Top 200 Drugs, IV
calculations, drug interactions and practical information on preparing for the
Boards.
Nearly
75 students attended this year's Review. The registration fee included
all study materials, refreshment breaks, and lunch.
